Fares & Passes

Overview

All fares must be purchased with a MyWAVE card, our Mobile App, or cash. MyWAVE cards are $4 and may be reloaded for up to 3 years. We offer passes and special fare programs designed to fit everyone's needs. Cash is also accepted, but change will not be issued, and you must pay an additional fare if you make a transfer.

You can manage your balance on your MyWAVE Card any time by visiting our efare site or GM&O Customer Service. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (251) 344-6600.

Standard Fare

The Wave Transit fare is $1.25 for a one-way trip — you are entitled to one free transfer if using a MyWAVE card or Mobile App. 

Reduced Fare

The Wave Transit offers many reduced fare options for those who qualify. Reduced Fare passes and fares are not available on our app. To qualify for Reduced Fare passes and fares, please bring the appropriate documentation to the GM&O Customer Service. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (251) 344-6600.

Disabled and Medicare Recipient Riders: to qualify for the discounted fare passes, please bring the proper documentation to the GM&O Building Location. Recertification occurs every 3-years.

Senior Citizens: riders who are 65 or older qualify for reduced fares. Bring proper identification to the GM&O building. Recertification is not required.

 Students: currently enrolled students qualify for reduced fares. Please bring the proper documentation to the GM&O Building Location. Recertification occurs every year.

 

Period Passes

 Period passes provide unlimited rides for a set amount of days. Period passes may be your cheapest option if you make multiple trips in a day during a pre-determined amount of days. Please keep in mind service does not run on Sundays.



Pay as You Go

MyWAVE offers the flexibility to restore your balance at any time. This option allows affordability to passengers who do not frequently ride the bus and enjoy the convenience of using our MyWAVE card or app. You are entitled to one free transfer.

 

Standard Fares

Regular Fare                                                        | $1.25

A Standard Fare is $1.25 with one free transfer allowed within two hours if using a MyWAVE card or App.

 

Moda! Downtown Circulator                           | $0.50

Moda! Fare is $0.50.

 

Children                                                                | Free

 Children 5 and under are free to ride with a fare-paying adult.

 

Senior Citizens                                                   | $0.60

Senior Citizen Fare is $0.60, with one free transfer allowed within two hours. If using cash, you must provide proper documentation to the operator. 

 

Disabled and Medicare Recipient Riders    | $0.60

Disabled and Medicare recipient rider's Fare is $0.60, with one free transfer allowed within two hours. If using cash, you must provide proper documentation to the operator. 

 

Period Passes

Day Pass                                                             | $3.00

A Day Pass is $3.00 and allows unlimited rides during our hours of operation upon activation.

 

Weekly Pass                                                      | $10.00

A Weekly Pass is $10.00 and allows unlimited rides during our hours of operation upon activation. 

 

Monthly Pass                                                    | $40.00

A Monthly Pass is $40.00 and allows unlimited rides during our hours of operation upon activation. 


Senior Citizens, Disabled Riders, and Medicare Recipient Period Passes

Weekly Pass                                                      | $5.00

A Weekly Pass is $5.00 and allows unlimited rides during our hours of operation upon activation. 

 

Monthly Pass                                                    | $20.00

A Monthly Pass is $20.00 and allows unlimited rides during our hours of operation upon activation. 

 

Student Period Pass

Monthly Pass                                                    | $20.00

A Monthly Pass is $20.00 and allows unlimited rides during our hours of operation upon activation.

 

Mobility Assistance Program

The Mobility Assistance Program (MAP) is a specialized, curb-to-curb transportation service for certified disabled individuals. The cost for a one-way is $2.50. Applicants must submit a MAP application and go through the eligibility process. For more information, please call 251-344-5656 and read our MAP User Guide (PDF).
